Anna Catharina Johanna Olivier
THE FIRST WIFE OF HENDRIK STEFANUS BOOIJSEN, and for a week this archive had her filed as a stranger. Her own Sterfkennis 6332 gives her parents as OCKEN JOHANNES OLIEFIER and ANNA JOHANNA BOTHA, her age as 67 years 8 months and 1 day, her farm as BRAKFONTEIN — which this archive read as Boekfontein — and her surname as OLIEFIER, which this archive read as Alberts. She was still married when she died: her husband outlived her by seventeen years and remarried at Zeerust eleven months later. Seven children, all of age: Petrus Jacobus, Ocken Johannes, Anna Johanna Maria, Elesabettha Maria Cornelya, Alettha Catrina Johanna, Magdalena Johanna, Hendrick Stefanus Nicolaas. Her father is where OCKERT JOHANNES came into this family — and her 1824 baptism gives his name entire, OCKERT JOHANNES STEPHANUS OLIVIER, which is exactly what her son was called. She married Hendrik Stephanus Booijzen at POTCHEFSTROOM on 3 JULY 1850, entry 206, she 25 and he 23 — the earliest evidence this archive has of this family north of the Vaal, twenty-six years before the 1876 death at Rustenburg and two years before the Sand River Convention.
This archive filed her for a week as a stranger called Anna Johanna Booijzen BORN ALBERTS who died at BOEKFONTEIN. Both readings were wrong, and together they kept a documented wife and two documented children off this family.

Where the archive puts Anna
Each carries the document that puts them there. The atlas →
- 13 Sep 2026 — Anna Catharina Johanna Olivier was on this site twice
One woman, two records: a stub written from the 1908 death notice — “His first wife, named as pre-deceased” — and a full record written from her own 1891 Sterfkennis hours later. The shared-name page gathered them as though they were two people. Merged. The build now warns on every shared name so a human checks each one reads as two lives and not one. Where it stands → - 13 Sep 2026 — Anna Johanna Booijzen, born Alberts, died at Boekfontein and is not this family
Every clause of that was wrong. She is Anna Catharina Johanna OLIVIER, she died at BRAKFONTEIN — the family's own farm, where the archive's oldest document was written — and she is the first wife of Hendrik Stefanus Booijsen. The maiden name reads Oliefier and contains no b, r, t or s; her son gives OLIVIER on the 1908 notice. Two misreadings on one page kept a documented wife, seven children and a whole Olivier line off this site for a week. Where it stands →
The documents
…Both are the right names in the right district at the right time, and this archive could no longer say what it had been saying. What was withdrawn → Since then the second of those two has been settled. The farm is Brakfontein , not Boekfontein, and the maiden name is Oliefier , not Alberts. She is Anna Catharina Johanna Olivier , the first wife of Hendrik Stefanus Booijsen, and she died on the family's own farm. A dossier is every mention of a person anywhere in this archive, gathered automatically after the site is built and linked back to the page it appears on. Identity here is by NAME, not by resolved individual — where two people share a name they share this page, and the archive says so rather than guessing. Nothing on a dossier page is new evidence; it is the same evidence, brought together.
