Charlotte Kolbe
Aged 30 in the Conduit Street household at the 1841 census. FROM THE CENSUS. 17 SEPTEMBER 2026 — SHE IS NOT IN THE 1851 CENSUS AND SHE PROBABLY DID NOT DIE BEFORE IT. There are only FOUR KOLBE DEATHS IN ALL ENGLAND AND WALES BETWEEN 1837 AND 1867 — John Gottlob 1845, George 1848, Elizabeth 1852 and CHARLOTTE KOLBE AT LAMBETH IN 1867. The single Kolbe in the entire 1851 census is also at Lambeth. If the 1867 death is hers she outlived her father by twenty-two years and was simply not caught by the 1851 enumerator under this surname. 20 SEPTEMBER 2026 — SHE IS NO LONGER AN INFERENCE. This record was marked inf because she matched no baptism in the family’s own register run and her place in the house was read off a census that records no relationships. MSB 751, her father’s letter of 23 August 1830: “CHARLOTTE SENDS YOU AN EVANGELICAL MAGAZINE, with the account of the death of the Rev. W. Orme, late Secretary to the L.M.S.” HER FATHER NAMES HER SENDING A MAGAZINE TO HER BROTHER. She is a daughter of this house on the evidence of the house.
Every record naming Charlotte Kolbe →
No family is drawn here, because none is recorded. This archive holds Charlotte Kolbe as a name on a document — a witness at a font, a signature on a form, a person named in someone else's list — and has no record of who their parents, spouse or children were. That is a statement about the sources, not about the person. Every record naming them →

…By the afternoon it had proved the Society’s own register wrong and the historian right . Neither is a witness. Both are reading lists. The only reason the claim was not swallowed is that this archive checked an arithmetic it could do from its own records before it checked anything else. Sibree’s Charlotte Kolbe, born 25 December 1829, “sister of Rev. F. W. Kolbe” , who married Rev. William Sykes at Paarl in 1860, goes with him. She is not the Settler’s daughter either.…

A dossier is every mention of a person anywhere in this archive, gathered automatically after the site is built and linked back to the page it appears on. Identity here is by NAME, not by resolved individual — where two people share a name they share this page, and the archive says so rather than guessing. Nothing on a dossier page is new evidence; it is the same evidence, brought together.
