Schoeman te Caerlaverock " , district Barkly Oost — witnessed and signed by D. W. SCHOEMAN . Documented Daniel Willem Schoeman, farmer of Caerlaverock, was tried as a Cape Rebel in June 1901. The family married in his house the following month, and he signed the register as a witness. Until now this archive could say only that the family lived in a rebel district . It can now name the man, the farm, the district and the month of his treason trial — and show the family in his house, weeks later.…
