Marianne Kolbe
Aged 35 and living with her father Johan Gottlieb in Conduit Street at the 1841 census, schedule 38. Almost certainly a sister of George Augustus, who had sailed for the Cape twenty-one years earlier and never came back. FROM THE CENSUS — no baptism has been read for her. 17 SEPTEMBER 2026 — AND THE REASON IS NOW SHARPER. The eleven known children of the house leave gaps at 1808–1812 and 1814–1818, and the 1841 ages of the three women in it — rounded down to the nearest five, so born about 1802–06, 1807–11 and 1812–16 — fall in and around those gaps. THE SAME TWO GAPS THE THREE MISSING SONS MUST SIT IN. The 1841 census records no relationships, that column beginning in 1851, SO HER PLACE IN THIS FAMILY IS AN INFERENCE FROM LIVING IN THE HOUSE. The Savoy baptism register would settle it and is locked.
Every record naming Marianne Kolbe →
No family is drawn here, because none is recorded. This archive holds Marianne Kolbe as a name on a document — a witness at a font, a signature on a form, a person named in someone else's list — and has no record of who their parents, spouse or children were. That is a statement about the sources, not about the person. Every record naming them →

…And what it does to Brunswick Square Brunswick Square is in Bloomsbury. It is not in Westminster and would not appear in any of these books, so they cannot disprove it. What they can do is close the gap: he is rated in Soho from 1800 to 1831, he is in the 1841 census at St George Hanover Square with Amelia A, Charlotte and Marianne Kolbe, and he dies in St George Hanover Square in 1845 . There is no window left for a Bloomsbury house. Conduit Street is in St George Hanover Square. The obituary is the odd one out. What a rate book is, and why it beat the directory. A trade directory lists the men who paid to be listed. A rate book lists everyone the parish could get money out of, every year, by street.…

A dossier is every mention of a person anywhere in this archive, gathered automatically after the site is built and linked back to the page it appears on. Identity here is by NAME, not by resolved individual — where two people share a name they share this page, and the archive says so rather than guessing. Nothing on a dossier page is new evidence; it is the same evidence, brought together.
