Charlotte Anne Callaghan

ELDEST DAUGHTER OF HUGH CALLAGHAN, ESQ., OF ASHBY MANOR, district of Queenstown; married Charles Andrew Werdmuller on 13 February 1884. SEVEN YEARS LATER SHE WAS DEAD AT THIRTY-TWO, at Hoopstad, “after a long illness”, and a correspondent’s obituary in the Queenstown Free Press adds that she had arrived there only a few months before, in indifferent health, with a disorder of the heart that proved organic. SHE LEFT “A HUSBAND AND TWO LITTLE GIRLS”, and it is that line which lets the 1909 marriage notice call Amy a second daughter.

No family is drawn here, because none is recorded. This archive holds Charlotte Anne Callaghan as a name on a document — a witness at a font, a signature on a form, a person named in someone else's list — and has no record of who their parents, spouse or children were. That is a statement about the sources, not about the person. Every record naming them →

A dossier is every mention of a person anywhere in this archive, gathered automatically after the site is built and linked back to the page it appears on. Identity here is by NAME, not by resolved individual — where two people share a name they share this page, and the archive says so rather than guessing. Nothing on a dossier page is new evidence; it is the same evidence, brought together.
