…It was resolved from Margaret Downing’s 1867 death notice , which lists among her children “Mary Elizabeth (dead) who was married to George F. Enslin” . The Enslin marriage belongs to Margaretha’s sister . Here are the two sisters, on one page, on one day, baptising a son each. Mary Elizabeth Kolbe with her Enslin, Margareth Kolbe with her Barry, two entries apart in the Burgersdorp register on 23 October 1853. The contradiction → And it puts them at Burgersdorp. The 1915 death notice says the marriage was at “Burghersdorp (probably)” — a son guessing, sixty-five years on, at something nobody had told him.…
